The Mahabharata is a comprehensive narrative of the Kurukshetra war fought between the Pandavas and the Kauravas. During the war, it was Lord Krishna who acted as the charioteer to Prince Arjuna (His friend and disciple), and guided the Pandavas to victory. However, before the conquest, Arjuna had to be counselled for his moral dilemma and despair. Lord Krishna explained to Arjuna that he must fulfil the dharma of a warrior. He also elaborated upon the struggles and predicaments that humans must battle and win, in order to follow their dharma and liberate their souls. The Bhagavad Gita is the compilation of this extensive and profound conversation between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
In today's time and age, people are in a constant rush trying to do, know, and achieve MORE in the smallest time possible. They want to stay relevant and be in demand in the rapidly changing external environment. With no time to pause and reflect, this addiction to faster living is creating a toxic imbalance in life and leading to emotional turmoil.
The Bhagavad-gita houses a wealth of knowledge that is as practical and relevant today, as it was five thousand years back. The study of this scripture helps one introspect, contemplate, and thus find solutions to the challenges and dilemmas of life. It helps make reflection, continuous learning and inquiry an essential part of life. The regular study of Gita also enables one to put purpose before self, and go back to being contented, peaceful and happy.

"If one follows the instructions of Bhagavad-gita, he can make permanent solution to all the problems of life. One can be freed from all miseries and anxieties in this life, and one's next life will be spiritual." - Srila Prabhupada (Founder Acharya of ISKCON)
"I was aware that the best work required more ability than I possessed and therefore I needed help that only God could give me. I made a true estimate of my own ability, and put myself in God's hands. In this way, I have always received all the power I needed, by depending upon Him." - Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam
"When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to the Bhagavad-gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow." - Mahatma Gandhi
